Under Iraqi Civil Service Law No. 24 of 1960 (as amended), a government employee earns regular leave with full pay at the rate of one day for every ten days of service actually worked. Special categories of public service (for example, education and university service) can have separate rules under their own applicable legislation — if you work in one of those specific services, check whether a special law applies to you before relying on this general rate.
