Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Head of Legal with a strong background in law, litigation, and corporate legal affairs. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience as an in-house legal counsel within multinational or international organizations and possess excellent legal judgment, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills. This role will be responsible for leading all legal matters, managing legal risks, ensuring corporate governance and compliance, and providing strategic legal support across the organization. Key Responsibilities Provide legal advice and guidance to senior leadership and internal stakeholders on a wide range of legal, regulatory, and commercial matters. Act as a strategic business partner, contributing to organizational objectives beyond functional legal responsibilities. Promote and maintain a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance throughout the organization. Act as the corporate governance lead, ensuring compliance with governance requirements, including board meetings, shareholder matters, statutory filings, and corporate disclosures. Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including government authorities, regulatory bodies, external legal counsel, consultants, and shareholders. Deliver proactive legal counsel and practical business-oriented solutions while effectively managing legal risks and controlling legal costs. Lead and oversee all litigation matters, including civil, labor, tax, regulatory, commercial, consumer, supplier, and contractual disputes. Monitor legal and regulatory developments and ensure the organization's ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Collaborate with regional and international legal teams on corporate, commercial, intellectual property, trademark, and compliance-related matters. Develop and strengthen legal team capabilities, succession planning, and overall departmental effectiveness. Partner with all business functions to address legal matters related to human resources, commercial operations, marketing, procurement, supply chain, finance, taxation, banking, and other corporate activities. Draft, review, negotiate, and standardize a wide range of agreements, contracts, corporate documents, and legal instruments to protect the organization's interests and mitigate potential risks. Review business proposals, strategic initiatives, and presentations intended for executive management or boards to ensure legal and compliance requirements are adequately addressed. Manage external legal service providers and ensure the effective delivery of legal services across all jurisdictions where the organization operates. Qualifications & Experience Law degree from a recognized university; a master's degree or additional legal qualifications would be an advantage. 10+ years of experience in corporate law, commercial law, litigation, and regulatory matters. Previous experience as in-house legal counsel within a multinational or international organization is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices. Proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide commercially sound legal advice. Excellent negotiation, drafting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to work effectively with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
