The Hamrin Block is comprised of 535 km² and contains one producing field. The Hamrin field produces oil primarily from the Tertiary (Miocene) reservoirs — the Jeribe and Euphrates formations — with the Dhiban formation as a secondary reservoir. Position Summary The IT Supervisor leads IT operations across HKN Hamrin's office and field locations, ensuring workstations, network infrastructure, and business-critical applications run reliably in an environment with limited local infrastructure and intermittent connectivity. The role oversees IT support staff, manages vendor and contract relationships, and owns technical standards and IT security at the site level, while coordinating closely with IT leadership on projects, budget, and policy. The successful candidate is a hands-on leader who can both guide a team and step in directly on complex technical issues. Main Duties & Responsibilities Supervise and schedule IT support staff across office and field locations, ensuring adequate coverage and timely resolution of issues. Act as the senior escalation point for complex or unresolved hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues. Own and manage vendor and contractor relationships, including quotes, SLAs, delivery timelines, and installation quality for IT and network equipment. Lead evaluation of hardware and software needs and make procurement and standardization recommendations. Provide input into IT budget planning and track spend against approved procurement. Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, across office and field sites; oversee field connectivity solutions such as 4G/LTE and VSAT/satellite links. Define and maintain technical standards, configurations, and documentation, including network diagrams and rollback/back-out plans. Own IT security posture at the site level, including access control, endpoint protection, and compliance with company policy. Oversee licensing compliance and IT asset inventory, and ensure upgrade procedures and policies are followed. Support the rollout, testing, and ongoing upkeep of business applications used by HKN Hamrin. Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of IT support staff. Coordinate with IT leadership on project status, priorities, and site-level policy. Travel to field locations as required to oversee installations, repairs, or major maintenance work. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum 4-5 years' experience in IT support or network roles, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (or equivalent current Microsoft infrastructure certification) required. Strong working knowledge of network design and troubleshooting (routers, switches, firewalls, WAN/LAN, cellular and satellite links). Solid knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and Azure-hosted applications. Proven experience managing vendors, contracts, and procurement processes.
